Jack's Review of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Without question the best Trek film. I know many people might argue that First Contact is the best but let me put my thoughts into your heads. One of the things that makes a movie great is the pacing of the film and the pacing in WoK is perfect. It has a perfect balance of action and drama that keeps you glued to your seat. You can enjoy this film without seeing the original series episode that spawned it (Space Seed). We see Kirk at his absolute best in this film and the ending with Spock is one of the most emotional scenes in science fiction. The peril of the whole situation with Khan is perfectly done - we actually feel like the Enterprise could lose. It's cinema perfection and one of the best sci-fi films ever made. If you want to introduce someone to Star Trek and you want to start them with one of the films this is where you start.
