Behold the power of cheese! I enjoyed seeing Tuvok learn some human traits in Spock-like fashion. Overall this episode feels a bit stale. Fortunately it is one of the last episodes where we feel a division between the Maquis and Voyager crew.

I have to list this among my favorite episodes so far. Garrett Wang and Patrick Duncan McNeill really have a good chemistry here and we are treated to another well-handled foray into the space/time continuum a la Star Trek. My only criticism is the lack of screen time for the effects as Tom and Harry are being chased by the Nebula class ship.

Now THIS is what I am talking about! Intrigue, plot twists, stellar acting by Kate Mulgrew and Robert Beltran...this is what makes Voyager such a great show. My only negative remark is the lack of ship battle sequences....still one of my favorites so far.
Here's a bit of trivia. Maje Haron of the Kazon-Relora was played by Terry Lester who starred in the 1976 TV series, Ark II....the show with the super RV, the jetpack, and the monkey. You can find the series on archive.org as of OCT/2021.

Once again we watched this as a family and all three of us were flipping out. This one is just incredible. It has a very epic feel to it, almost like a feature film. After watching this one, I think the Viidians are even more horrifying than the Borg...

Classic time paradox Trek! I have always loved these kinds of episodes....the way Kirk and Picard were able to keep their impact on past Earth to a minimum....but not so much for our poor Voyager crew. Nothing goes right for them. Ed Begley Jr plays a perfect slime...and Sarah Silverman, much to my surprise, plays a very not-annoying part here. Can't wait to see how this turns out!

This episode could have been written by Terry Goodkind. Very fantasy-based. Acting by Jennifer Lien was excellent. Loved seeing Tom Paris with the compression phaser rifle too. My only complaints are these. It felt like the writer had a very vague idea of what the characters on Voyager were like and it followed "Future's End". Any episode other than one featuring Q would pale following that episode.

This was a brilliant episode. The Voth characters look amazing and the whole scene where they sneak aboard Voyager to observe the crew is thrilling. The trial is emotional - bringing anger, disgust, excitement, and pity all to the surface. Probably one of the best Stas Trek episodes ever. On a side note - poor Lt Hogan...yes, that skeleton is his...look at the hole in his skull!

Such a killer concept! A race of morally immoral scientists performing live gene experiments on the crew! The episode has a certain qiality I have come to expect from David Livingston directed works as well. My only quibble is the ease at which Voyager passes between the binary pulsar with her shields down. Still it does make for a dramatic end to a great episode.

Terrific introduction to a new villain. I like how Voyager's writers remember that the ship is moving into new space and leaving old alien races behind. The Hirogen race is Star Trek's answer to the Predator. Very well done and now my Son has a new favorite bad guy species.

I love that species 8472 keeps appearing in the most unlikely of places. This episode is very good in that we get to see Voyager conversing with them instead of the typical telepathic stuff from previous encounters. Two episodes in a row that really show off the acting prowess of this cast. When Jeri Ryan cracks a smile and uses a girly voice in one scene, my Son and I just looked at each other with our mouths agape. You get so used to seeing her as a robot-like character that any display of emotion is almost unsettling in the same way it is seeing Tuvok or Spock laugh. Absolutely well done!
